Put a Wrap on It

So, here's something. I am starting a new business. Some of you may have heard and others may have not, but it's called Put a Wrap on It. I wanted to start something new where I could use my design talent to share with others. I am still in the development stages of my website, but I have a temp page up that I would love for you to visit and comment on. That would be really helpful.

Put a Wrap on It's goal is to turn an ordinary candy bar into a personal and memorable gift or favor with designer looks. There are a ton of designs to chose from, and they can be customized with your own message. My wraps fit large Hershey bars, regular size Hershey, Miniature Hershey and Life Savers.

Here are some pictures to have a sneak peak at some samples. My awesome photographer took these, Laurel Hansen. Check her out. (I designed her cool logo!) I'll let everyone know when my online shop is open.

Here's a glance at all the sizes you can order:

These work great for party favors, or for kids to hand out in class on birthdays:

I like these large ones in gift baskets for showers or birthdays:

Perfect for teacher appreciation:

I love the minis. I think they're my favorites. They are perfect for party favors:

Ahhhhhh!

Oh my goodness! I am actually updating my blog. What's up with that?! Here it goes....

Hot Fudge

I love hot fudge. After I ate it on some ice cream tonight, I went to town on it with a spoon. Am I the only crazy one who does that?!

My Sister

My sister and best friend, Anita, is going to be here tomorrow, and I am so excited. We'll spend half a week together. Since she lives in California we don't get to hang out very often. We always have the best time chillin. Our kids just play really well and leave us alone for the most part. We love it. In honor of her arrival, these are two of my favorite pictures ever (taken a year ago).

Wii Boxing

This just makes me smile...

My Baby's Four!

It is so crazy to see your children grow right before your eyes. I can't believe Danny is four years old. I feel like I just saw him and held him for the first time. He was such a cute and good little baby. These four years have flown. I know I will blink my eyes, and he'll be going to school. I've always been anxious for my boys to be big, strong, smart, mature, etc. Now it's happening way too fast!

Here it is. How'd I do? I couldn't find a little red and blue Spiderman, but Danny thought the black, bad Spiderman was cooler anyway.

I took a photo of each of the cousins at dinner. What cute kids! But of course Danny has to show his wild side! He's such a nutter.

Birthday Cakes

Jacob and I were shopping tonight for Danny's birthday that's coming up this weekend. We picked out some presents (Jacob tried to get me to buy him the Star Wars Republic Gunship he is "dying to have") and then moved on to the cake mixes. Danny has only been asking for a Spiderman cake for the last 6 months, so I have thought about and have a pretty good idea on how to make this a reality.

Jacob must question my ability. He said, "Mom...how are you going to make a Spiderman birthday cake? You're only 28."

FAVORITE THINGS

I thought I would list a few of my favorite things in the world. I of course love many things, but these are among the best of the best (in no particular order).
  1. Hot Fudge Brownie Shakes. There is nothing better to splurge on. Logan's Charlies or Caspers have the best ones. Brownies and ice cream are favorites, but when they are together...watch out!
  2. Clinque Lucky Penny Eye Shadow. It's the best color ever! I wear it everyday. Except on days I don't leave the house. In those cases I don't wear makeup at all.
  3. Victoria's Secret Very Sexy P-U Bra. What did I do without this?! A girl like me needs all the help she can get :) Thanks, Victoria.
  4. Hot Pink Nano. Love it! And it's pink.
  5. Logitech ipod Speakers. A must-have with any ipod. I can listen to music everywhere. Cleaning, in the kitchen, outside in the summer, anywhere I want.
  6. "Glitzed" Lia Sophia Ring. My favorite piece of fun jewelry. It's black, super sparkly, and it looks so cool!
  7. Under Armour Black Workout Shirt. My favorite thing to wear to the gym. I used to be afraid to wear anything tight, but now I like to. I gotta feel like I look good when I work out - it motivates me to work harder. Thanks, Em!
  8. Diet Cherry Pepsi. I'll admit it...I am an addict.
  9. Chilis' Big Mouth Burger. No onions. It's my favorite thing to eat at a restaurant. I love a good restaurant burger, and this one's the best! (with a side salad, of course!)
  10. My "This Planet Rocks" Tee. I sleep in this cause it's my fav!
Your turn! Blog about your favorite things and let me know so I can check it out.

Counting Calories

Since I have gone to work my workout routines have been suffering. I have gained a whopping 2 pounds (freaking out about it because I better not gain more), and I should be counting my calories, but I'm not. We thought we should use a little tax return and get a treadmill for our house. But Jon talked to our accountant today, and we actually OWE money this year! What's up with that! With my business I made enough money with not enough tax deductions, and I owe self-employment tax! That's bites!

I guess I'll keep trying to go to the gym when I can and throw my dream body out the window. Just in case you all want to see what I wish I looked like:
I'll take a picture of myself when I look like that...which will be uh, never.

Science Fair

Jacob did a project for the school Science Fair this year. We thought it would be his first exposure to a science project and how fun one can be. We chose to do a density project. It turned out pretty cool. We did the experiment on the weekend, and he really had fun with it. He did all the pouring and testing. Then I helped with the presentation poster (of course), but I had him write out a lot of it himself.

The night of the fair he did not want to go, but it was too late. We had done it, made a poster, and we were going. Well, you can tell by some of these photos hoe excited he was about being there. Really all he could think about was going home and playing Wii before bed.

Oh well. It was a worthy effort to get him excited about science. At least he got a coupon for a free scope of Aggie ice cream (which I'll probably steal) and a participation ribbon because they didn't give prizes!

If they only knew...

Last night we were all sitting watching a program on TV. Danny - sorry Damage - was sitting next to me. I was scooted up on the cushion, and he was climbing behind me and reaching his arm around me. All of a sudden I look down and he is patting my right hoohoo. I moved his hand an asked him not to do that. Well, a few moments later he was doing it again, and I said "stop." He looked at me and said "Mom, I like reaching your little balls."

Damaged Danny

Danny's official nickname is now "Damage." He's done it again! Another broken arm!

He is so crazy. He has had stitches 3 times (all on that cute little face) and has broken bones 2 times (each arm once). The poor kid isn't even 4 yet! Seriously, last year we signed up for Aflac through Jon's work because of Danny. So far it has paid off. We thought about canceling it to save some money, but I am glad we didn't. Pretty soon they won't allow us to be insured by them. (It's like when my brother-in-law's family was asked to leave Chuck-a-Rama because they ate too much of the all-you-can-eat buffet!)

Here is a recap of all the damage:

VOTE!

It's not the presidential election, but I would like your vote. Please indulge me and tell me what you shave and what you wax. It is of course anonymous, so no one will know your answer. I took the liberty of being the first to vote. I shave armpits, legs, and have recently added my arms to the list. I had a crazy moment in the shower a few weeks ago and put the razor to my arms. It feels so cool - I love it! I also wax my bikini line. OUCH! But so much better than shaving. I haven't been brave enough to try the whole thing, but who knows...maybe someday I will have another crazy moment in the shower...(wink wink).

P.S. Is this tmi?

Also, do you like my blog background?

Panty Hose

So, girlies...I need help. I can't buy a pair of nylons that don't get a run in them within the first few hours. Do you have any suggestions on a good brand?

JOB!!!!!

So, I start a new job tomorrow!

This is so crazy! I am going to work at a company called Forthgear. I have worked there before - once after I graduated from college, and once before Danny was born. Anyway, they need another designer, and I need to work, so here we go!

Check out their website: www.forthgear.com

They are a really great company, and I am excited to be back in a professional design environment again. They are an amazing team, so I will have a lot to learn from them and I know I will grow a ton as a designer and professional.

I am going to work part-time. I will work Monday, Wednesday and Friday. One hang-up is they are located in Kaysville. This means a nice commute for me. However, my sister-in-law lives very close, and has been so generous and willing to take Danny for me. Danny has a cousin who is the same age, so they will have fun together. Since Jacob is in school, he will have to go to a day care after school. I am a little apprehensive about that (of course), but I doing my research to find the best place for him to go. Both Jon and I feel like this is an answer to prayer, so we are putting our faith in the Lord, and I know it will all work out. We are very excited for this change.

Buy Products

Hi Everyone! I know it has been a while since I wrote a new post. I thought I would make this post about my brother Larry's side business. He sells some products online. I have tried some and I am sold on them. He sells a lot of nutrition products that I haven't tried, but I have tried some of the L.O.C. cleaning products. I like them because they come in concentrate form, and they last a long time. I spend a lot less money on cleaning supplies since I started using these. They also smell good.

The SA8 laundry detergent is also really good. It smells nice, and it comes in concentrate form. I LOVE this, because it saves me lots of space! I have the gallon size bottle. I don't hassle with big bulky boxes anymore, and I love that! Also, this gallon size bottle lasts me about 6 months (and I do about 8-10 loads of laundry per week)! It only costs $36.45. There is also a 1.5 liter bottle for $14.35 if you just wanted to give it a go. Anyway, I think it's great!

Click here to check out the website

A permanent link is under "Bubbly Links" under LCA Enterprises.
To find the household cleaning supplies, put in the search box: L.O.C.
To find the laundry products, put in the search box: SA8

I have tried the L.O.C. Plus kitchen cleaner, L.O.C. Plus Glass Cleanser, and L.O.C. Plus Soft Cleanser. I have also tried the SA8 liquid laundry detergent and the PreWash Spray Spot Treatment. I plan to try the Bathroom cleaner next.

Anyways, try it out!

OREOS

There are a few things in life I can't resist ... Ben and Jerry's Brownie Batter Ice Cream, a home-made brownie sundae, a hot fudge brownie shake from Caspers or Charlies, and a yummy dessert made with Oreo cookies is definitely one of them too. I have been fairly good through the holidays with not eating too many treats. I even managed to keep off the few pounds I lost the month before. (I certainly didn't lose any more, but I didn't gain any either.) But the other night I made this dessert for New Years, and I can't leave it alone. I still have some at my house, so this is an open invitation to anyone who will please come save me from porking out on the whole thing!

Want to know what I am talking about? Here's the recipe:

STRIPED DELIGHT

35 Oreos
6 Tbsp. butter, melted
1 pkg. Philadelphia cream cheese, softened
1/4 c. sugar
2 T. cold milk
1 tub (12 oz) Cool Whip, thawed
3 1/4 c. cold milk
2 pkg. (4-serving size) Jell-O Chocolate flavor instant pudding

Place cookies in food processor; cover. Process to form fine crumbs. Transfer to medium bowl. Add butter and mix well. Press firmly onto the bottom of a 9x13 dish. Refrigerate 10 minutes. Meanwhile, beat cream, cheese, sugar, and 2 Tbsp milk with wire whisk until well blended. Stir in 1 1/4 cups of the cool ship topping. Spread over crust.
Pour 3 1/4 cups milk into large bowl. Add dry pudding mixes. Beat with wire whisk 2 minutes or until well blended. Spoon evenly over cream cheese layer. Let stand 5 minutes or until thickened. Spread remaining whipped topping over pudding layer. Refrigerate at least 4 hours. Store left overs in the fridge.
