What's Your Purpose?

Every once in a great while there comes along a movie that takes my breath away. I'm not a movie critic by any stretch of the imagination, but I know what I like. I watched "Hugo" last night. What a spectacular movie! Especially in a time when spectacular movies are few and far between. How much garbage is out there? It is so refreshing to watch something that is just good, beautiful and with substance. I would consider it a must see for, well, everyone!

My favorite quote from the movie comes from this determined boy, Hugo: "Right after my father died, I would come up here a lot. I'd imagine the whole world was one big machine. Machines never come with any extra parts, you know. They always come with the exact amount they need. So I figured, if the entire world was one big machine, I couldn't be an extra part. I had to be here for some reason. And that means you have to be here for some reason too."

The movie centers around this theme: finding your purpose. Perfect! It has made me reflect on what my purpose is. Like Hugo, I agree. We all have a purpose on earth. We're all here for a reason with specific things to accomplish, peoples' lives to touch, ways to grow and evolve into the person we are truly meant to be. Sometimes we forget how we fit in and are supposed to work. Sometimes we may get rusty and need some attention and care. Sometimes we just brake and need to be fixed.

...Sometimes that is someone's purpose.

I suggest to get a bowl of popcorn, a blanket, lots of fluffy pillows, a Pepsi (of course) and watch this film.

Then think: what part of this masterful machine am I?
